STEM for Women is a student-led organization dedicated to providing free opportunities to women who would like to learn more about STEM. We hope to break barriers in education and professional areas by encouraging and empowering young girls and teenagers to be more involved in STEM.
Through social media and our blog, STEM for Women is dedicated to informing others on different STEM-based topics, statistics about the field, ways to get involved as a student, and much more. Education is the key and our organization wants to provide that.
There are many organizations and programs that can help women feel more empowered and get involved in STEM activities. At STEM for Women, we want to make the search easier by providing resources like summer camps, programs, websites, books, and other information that can help you learn more and advance your skills in STEM.
Many young girls are discouraged from pursuing a STEM career as they feel outnumbered and overpowered by men. It is important to encourage women to be confident in their abilities in STEM to help close the gap. Stem for Women is dedicated to promoting a safe, empowering environment where everyone can feel confident in their capabilities and skills.
Mary Grlic is a high school senior from Long Island, New York who founded STEM for Women in response to the gender gaps in STEM. Passionate about all things science and math, Mary hopes to see a world where everyone will be treated equally in the field. She believes that by engaging and empowering young women, we can make a difference in the next generation of students.
